Oh yeah, there's a bunch of files encoded at 480x480 as well, an equally incompatible resolution. Sigh...

The files you've got at 480x480 may work just fine in your DVD player since many players will handle SVCD's just fine. You might have to transcode the audio to 48K if it's not already. Try one out on a DVD-RW and see how it goes !

I think that's what TMpeg views as 1:1 SVCD. It would be great if the files were all set to DVD res for the Mpeg-2 and have the volumes normalized. We are all on our own. At least it makes a helluva crash course in digital A/V!
